Creative Photo Shoot with Naomi of Valkyrie Photography

I had the sincere pleasure of working with Naomi Lehr, a local photographer who has incredible style. The lens through which she sees her clients is so unique and inspiring. Her vision and creativity are invigorating and pleasure to work with. I came across her work from a colleague of mine at a previous salon that I worked. I began following her on social media, and watched as she progressed in defining of her brand, and refining of her style and flair. I wanted to work with her on a personal project, something that I had always wanted to do but could not quite decided how I wanted to go about it. I wanted to get in front of the camera for the first time, and create a fantasy shoot with a valkyrie theme. I have always wanted to connect deeper to my ancestry and knew that Naomi with her style, and a business name matching my desired theme was meant to be. We collaborated on a creation that tells a few stories, some of which as sharable to the public, and others are much more personal to me. The experience made me feel empowered and sexy, and so connected to my roots in Norway. Although my family does not carry over the belief systems or cultural practices, I felt like the experience honored them, where we have come from, and reminded me of what kind of woman I want to be seen as. I love being creative, I am very strong, and I long to be outdoors in the beauty of nature. This photo shoot says so much more than that to me on a personal level, but it embodies female strength and resilience.

It would be my great pleasure to continue to work in this realm of photo shoots for fantasy themes, boudoir, couples and families, and other creative endeavors. There are no limits to what we can create, only limiting ideas and beliefs. I hope that this work inspires other people, especially women to seek out their dreams and aspirations, even if it is silly by other people’s standards. What I learned from this experience was that I can seen as a powerful, attractive and interesting woman, without removing my clothes- although there are shots where that happened and they are incredibly empowering as well!
